Sprinkler Irrigation 123 Tutorial - Choose Your Components - Valve Manifolds
Choose Your Components Cont'd.... Valve Assembly for Zones We will now look at the components needed for the zones using a manifold set up. There are 2 options for setting up the automation of your system. Solenoid Valve Manifold Assemblies – This method is most commonly used for multiple zone for underground sprinkler systems. Using this method requires an irrigation controller which can be operated via WIFI and also provides accessories such as rain sensors for ultimate water conservation. Hose End Timers – If you have a small system with 4 zones or less you can use a simple timer provided that your flow per zone is less than 180 gph. It’s basic but it works!
Solenoid Valve Manifold Assemblies The easiest way to assemble a manifold for your zones is to use Hydro-Rain Manifold Assemblies. They are used by professionals and known for their superior quality and simple assembly. Let’s now look at what you need using both Blu-Lock and Regular Poly Tubing systems. These assemblies can be attached directly to a hose bib, or directly plumbed into your water supply. In our example, we have shown a 3-zone manifold system. The Hydro-Rain system allows you to create limitless zones combing 1, 2, and 3 port manifolds for however many zones you require.
As you can see from the above diagrams, the set up is the same for both systems except for the Pipe Connection Fittings.
